TRAVEL, PHOTOGRAPHY, LIFE
Avid learner and enthusiast of history, travel, culture, arts, crafts, music and photography, I have been fortunate enough to have travelled extensively in Asia and surrounding – China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Nepal, Bali (Indonesia), Korea, India and Australia.
For me, traveling is not only about going to places and enjoying the moments, it is also about knowing the culture, people, and traditions of the place you are visiting. It reminds us who we are and also our existence as humans in the planet. As you walk past
the people on your path, smiling, some waving little hands at times, then a quiet road gives way to a glittering giant mountain in front of you, taking your breath away; or a big town down below the hill; a vast paddy field littered with farmers planting, the place becomes a soul talking to you softly, whispering and smiling down at you, welcome stranger! A fiery train ride hurling down from Ha Noi, you will be clinging to the bed railings wondering if the train knows its way in the pitch dark Vietnamese night, just to wake up slowly in a dream like Hoi An, as if you have stepped back in time. Travel is no surfing the net, travel is no You tubing, although that can be an alternative in the new age of COVID, travel is dipping your toes into the water. Travel is the fuel of life, the jest, without it you are living a YouTube life.
Despite being a ‘techie’ by trade, my heart lies in writing, history, arts and culture and photography. I was fortunate enough to be born into lap of natural beauty and the treasure trove of majestic mountains, valleys, rivers, temples, palaces, hills, music and culture. I carry love of nature in my heart wherever I go and live in the world.
